Sophomores conduct experimental studies

Since last June, second year students conducted simple experimental studies as a basic requirement in their biology class under Mr Ray Butch D Mahinay.

Topics ranged from plants to insects and animals, even to non-living things.

The studies of Khem Sabanal's group of II Aguinaldo proved to be good: they studied the effectivity of cleaning agents to shells. They used muriatic acid, acetic acid, and liquid detergents. It was concluded that acetic acid or vinegar is most effective among the agents.

On the other section, II Bonifiacio, the group of Claudine Fernandez was the most accurate in their observation. They used santan plants in two environments - liquid and in soil - and measured quantitative data like number of leaves and growth height. It was concluded that santan plants would still favorably grow in soil.
